Terms of Use
Last updated: October 17, 2026
Notju is a tool for keeping your lecture sources, editing notes, creating notes with AI when it’s available, and following your own study plan. These terms cover using the web, iPhone and iPad apps.
Who can use Notju
You must be at least 13 years old to use Notju. If you’re under 18, or under the age of majority where you live, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms for you.
Your account
Use an email address you can access and don’t share your password. Some actions need a verified email address. You can change your password and sign out other sessions in Account settings.
Content you upload
Only upload content you have the right to use and to share for the job you start. Don’t upload other people’s private information without permission, and don’t send unlawful content, harmful files or requests that disrupt the service. You keep the rights to your own content; you allow Notju to store and process it as needed to provide the features you use.
Recording lectures
You are responsible for making sure that recording a lecture is lawful and allowed by your school. Some schools, states and countries require consent from the lecturer and everyone whose voice is recorded; ask your lecturer before you record. Notju reminds you before your first recording but can’t check whether you have permission. Use recordings, and the notes made from them, only for your own study, and don’t share or publish them without permission.
Check AI results
Text extraction, transcripts and notes can be wrong or incomplete. Compare formulas, numbers, names and anything the AI added with the original source. Notju doesn’t replace your teacher’s judgment and doesn’t guarantee exam results. You can correct your notes and the text read from your sources yourself.
AI features require the data you choose to be processed by Anthropic and Groq for the job. The Privacy page explains what is sent. You can save your sources and write notes yourself without starting AI.
Plans and AI use
Notju has two plans: Free and Notju Pro. Notebooks, writing notes yourself, reading, search, the study plan, saving sources and transferring ready text as is without AI are available in both. The plans differ only in AI use and file storage.
Every account with a verified email address has a weekly AI allowance, shown as a percentage. Your week starts with your first AI job and renews 7 days later. Each job uses what it costs: turning a long lecture recording into a note uses much more than a photo or an AI edit. A job you start finishes even if it takes your use past 100%; a job that fails doesn’t count. Your use is shared across the web, iPhone and iPad for the same account and is shown under AI use in Account settings.
File size limits are shown on the upload screen. Further limits may apply to recording length, storage and AI jobs. AI and email depend on your connection and on our providers, so we can’t guarantee that every job runs without interruption or succeeds. Keep your own copy of important sources and check that your edits are saved. If AI is temporarily unavailable because of a provider, new AI jobs won’t start even if you have use left, and the app tells you; you can still save sources and work with your notes.
Notju Pro subscription
Notju Pro is a monthly, auto-renewing subscription with 5× the Free plan’s weekly AI use and 2 GB of file storage. You can only buy it in the iPhone and iPad app, through Apple’s in-app purchase; the price is the one the App Store shows on the purchase screen. Pro works on the web, iPhone and iPad with the same Notju account.
Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase. The subscription renews automatically for the same period and price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends; the renewal is charged within the last 24 hours of the period. You can manage and cancel your subscription in your App Store account settings. Cancelling takes effect at the end of the period, and Pro stays on until then. Refunds are requested through Apple under Apple’s rules.
A subscription on one Apple Account works for one Notju account at a time. Restore purchases moves the subscription to the Notju account you’re signed in to. When a subscription ends, your account goes back to the Free plan; your notes, notebooks and files aren’t deleted. If your files are over the Free plan’s storage, nothing is deleted, but new uploads stop. Deleting your Notju account doesn’t cancel your App Store subscription; cancel it before you delete your account.
For the app downloaded from the App Store, Apple’s standard End User License Agreement (EULA) also applies.
Your rights as a consumer
We provide Notju with care, but to the extent the law allows, we provide it as it is and don’t promise that it will always be available or free of errors. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can’t be excluded, such as the guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law or the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act.
Closing your account and getting help
You can stop using Notju by deleting your account and its content in Account settings. Deletion can’t be undone; the Privacy page explains file cleanup and local copies. For problems with signing in or processing, see the Support page.
